Juniper arrived in the Piedmont region of North Carolina during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, seeking refuge from New York City, where they worked as a meditation teacher, wilderness guide, and activist. Hailing from the Appalachian foothills, they quickly felt a connection to this land. Initially, Juniper volunteered for 7 Directions of Service (7DS), and later joined the staff to assist with their MMIW work and various other projects. Currently, they serve as the Farm Manager for Yesah Farm, dedicated to cultivating the garden and fostering connections between people and the land.
As a nature meditation teacher and having spent the last few years on a community farm, Juniper revels in the joy of getting their hands in the dirt, growing and harvesting local seasonal food, and preparing meals with love for others. With a diverse professional background that includes roles as a Program Director, Operations Manager, Kitchen Manager and Cook, as well as an Educator and Facilitator, Juniper also holds a degree in Photography.
Juniper’s passion lies in encouraging individuals to (re)connect with the Earth, aiming to inspire greater care for healing the planet and all living beings. They are actively engaged in the local ecstatic dance community and cherish their time with their two beloved kitties.
