Jason Crazy Bear Tircuit Campos-Keck, originally from East Oakland, California, has transformed from challenging beginnings to becoming a prominent leader in community and social justice initiatives. Embracing his multi-racial heritage—Native American (Choctaw-Apache), French-African Creole from Louisiana, and European—Jason honors his cultural roots through ceremonial dance and active community engagement.
In his professional journey, Jason was the Vice President of Outreach for an international men's organization dedicated to fostering successful families, careers, and communities. His commitment to social justice is evident in his roles as President of the Alamance County Native American Caucus and Secretary of the 17 Rivers North Carolina Chapter of the American Indian Movement.
Jason co-founded Eastern Woodland Lacrosse and 7 Directions of Service with his wife, Dr. Crystal Cavalier-Keck. The latter is an Indigenous-led environmental justice and community organizing collective based on Occaneechi-Saponi homelands in rural North Carolina. 7 Directions of Service is dedicated to defeating the fossil fuel industry, advocating for the legal Rights of Nature, and developing a land, language, and cultural center based on traditional Yesah teachings. Through these endeavors, Jason and Crystal work collaboratively to address social justice issues within their community, striving to create a more equitable and sustainable future.
